Talk about living with emotions that feel like a roller coaster. 😅
Sometimes it feels like my mind and my body are living two completely different lives.
My mind is actually doing well.
I enjoy my job.
I work out.
I write.
I laugh.
I spend time with my family.
Life feels… good.
And then that feeling shows up.
«Am I really happy?»
«Or am I just pretending?»
«Who am I trying to fool?»
The strange thing is, I know those thoughts aren’t true.
Yet they still appear.
I don’t actually think it’s because I’m not happy.
I think it’s because my body doesn’t know what it’s like to feel safe for very long.
It’s used to chaos.
It’s used to waiting for the next disaster.
So when life finally becomes calm, my body almost starts searching for something that’s wrong.
As if it’s whispering:
«This can’t possibly last.»
Isn’t it fascinating how we respond to life?
Not necessarily based on how things are right now…
but based on what we’ve become accustomed to.
Our demons are incredibly difficult to let go of.
And maybe we’re not supposed to lose them completely.
«Kill my demons, and my angels might die too.»
It’s one of my favorite quotes.
I think there’s something incredibly beautiful about it.
I genuinely love it.
I believe we need both our demons and our angels.
Not because our demons are good in themselves, but because they challenge us.
They force us to look inward.
It fits perfectly with something I often say:
«It’s the negative sides that make you who you are.»
Many people may disagree with that, but hear me out.
It takes courage to face your own weaknesses.
It takes self-awareness to acknowledge them.
And it takes strength to do something about them.
Our positive qualities rarely challenge us.
Our negative ones do.
It’s often in the face of fear, shame, anger, uncertainty, or sorrow that we grow the most.
Not because those emotions are desirable, but because they force us to choose.
Will we let them control us?
Or will we learn from them?
Maybe that’s exactly why I love this quote so much.
Not because I want my demons back…
But because they’ve helped shape the person I am today.
And that person…
I have no intention of letting go of. ❤️
