It really doesn’t take much to turn an ordinary workday into a great one.

Sometimes, all it takes is having the right people around you. Suddenly, what feels like an ordinary job becomes the best job in the world.

Yesterday, when I arrived at work, I saw that my favorite person was on shift.
And as if that wasn’t enough, the rest of the crew happened to be the people I have the most fun with.
I was so happy.
I could already tell it was going to be a really good day.
And I was right.
I enjoyed every minute of it.

Honestly, I can’t remember the last time my stomach hurt so much from laughing.
I laughed so wholeheartedly that it almost hurt.
I’m already looking forward to the next time we get to work together.
It also made me realize something.

Maybe it isn’t always the job itself that makes us love going to work.
Maybe it’s the people.
A good work environment makes all the difference.
There’s something incredibly freeing about working with people you genuinely enjoy being around. People you can be yourself with. People you can laugh with.

And then another thought crossed my mind.
I don’t laugh like that very often these days.

Not the kind of laughter that comes from deep inside.
The kind that makes your stomach ache.
The kind that makes your shoulders relax.
The kind that lets you forget everything else for a little while.
I’d almost forgotten how wonderful that feeling is.

And maybe that’s why I went home feeling lighter than when I arrived.
Sometimes, we don’t need the big things.

Sometimes, all we need are people who make us laugh.
